Build Your Own Binaural Dummy-Head!
Long time no post! That's because I've been busy with a lot of binaural goodies. I will soon have a new music video which has taken me more time to plan out than actually create...
The reason for this post, however, is to let y'all know about a tutorial I just posted on building your own binaural dummy-head! Yep, I show you the easiest and cheapest way I know to get started with a good looking, and sounding head. Take a look for yourself:

I hope you have fun with it and please, please let me know if you find anything that I can improve on.

jeff, nice tutorial. i sent the link to my phD architect friend and bandmate. maybe we'll try this out when we get the time/funds =)
Thanks Nick. It's a fun hobby to play around with. Especially because I don't believe it's reached it's full potential as far as where and how it can be applied.
I just read an article from 1975 in 'Studio Sound' (found by googling 'dummy head recording') that said experiments had proved that the actual dummy head was of little importance in binaural recording.I appreciate there has probably been a lot more research since then, but what is your take on this?
Gary, I would agree. The head itself is not of much importance. My "5 favorite things" video was done without a head at all. Just two floating ears on 5" discs. The discs provided the shadowing, and it worked great in my opinion.
It's all about the ears.
Where can i see, and more importantly, hear this video?
It's on the home page of this blog, but the direct source is here:

In your tutorial of "Calibration", I can't find any explain of “inverse EQ” online.
I want to know how "inverse EQ" works.
