Introducing: The Free Space - 3D (binaural) Audio Microphone

Hey binaural folks, I've just started offering a sweet new portable binaural microphone. It's called the Free Space - 3D Audio Microphone, by my new company 3Dio.

I designed it specifically to be used with the GoPro mounted on top, with a grip handle for carrying it around. The GoPro is an amazing little camera, and it records stereo in from the external mic!

I also designed the Free Space to be mounted to any standard camera hot-shoe. Note that the grip handle comes with a cold shoe already attached, for quickly changing from one mount to the other... Oh yes I did! Check it out:

Hi, Jeff!

This looks really great! I was just about to try to build myself a new binaural head, but I think I'm just gonna buy this one instead!

Does it have ear canals? And if it does, could one also buy the preset from the callibration, seeing as I don't really have access to an anechoic chamber, or a good enough loudspeaker.

Cheers,
Magnus Wandås (fellow home brewer and binaural enthusiast)

Magnus, Thanks for the comment!

I think you'll get much more out of this mic than you would with a dummy head. Plus, it sounds better (binaurally)! No it doesn't have ear canals. I have found that they do not provide additional directional information, and they just add an extra step with the calibration.

Oh, all right. That's a relief, as it makes everything so much easier. Just placed my order! Now I'll just need to get a GoPro!

I have had the privilege to own headphones that give a 3D like experience when it's using THX software. It makes the atmosphere of video games so real and it brings me a great feel of immersion. There are also video games that have used 3d scanning service to make models out of the once sculpted game objects and then put into the game for a great visual feel. I love the technology that we have today, it is so grand and engaging.

It's rare that one encounter products that are created uniquely like this. As such, if this will be put up in the market for sale, it should be competitive along with some SEO strategies.

Can this be use for eavesdropping? Kidding aside, I wonder if this will be helpful when it comes to online marketing?

The design did surprise me. It catches attention from any angle. I do hope that there would be reviews about its sound quality.

This is something. This equipment is something that you would be proud not only to have but also to display in a technology expo.

Technology is something that everyone should use wisely. Therefore, companies, or associations should not abuse it and use it properly to help them satisfy the customer's need and want.

The emergence of technology in our society has brought a lot of changes to us. I can sense that sooner or later our inventors could come up with a filing and archiving system that would make the storage easier and user-friendly.
